What a SUPER day!

What a great day for Indianapolis and an even better day for HUGE football fans Shannen and me!!!! The Superbowl will be held here in 2012. As mom points out--that will give our kids enough time to grow up and be old enough to really enjoy the celebration that is SUPER-BOWL 2012 INDY.
The other awesome event that occured just a few hours ago.... LAST HOME SPORTING EVENT at Greenfield-Central High School for 2007-08 school year! We won the baseball game in the bottom of the sixth, even though we blew a lead. The worst part was the temperature. I'm sure it was NOT 60 degrees and it was a bit windy... Not idea conditions for a late May Senior Night game. Sectionals are Monday and the season should be OVER OVER by the end of next week.
My job is not over for the school year. Tomorrow and Thursday I get to sit in a conference room and help decide the new girls' basketball coach for the high school. We have finished the preliminary round, cutting about 20 applicants to seven. Tomorrow night is the first interview and Thursday we'll bring back our three faves if we don't have a decision after round two. I'm looking forward to a new role, and I hope I can pick the "winner" of Greenfield-Central Women's Basketball Idol '08! I'll let you know, but not 'til it's official!!!
Today was Natalie's last day of school. We've made plans to attend playdates and a number of the kids have already invited each other over to the other's pools for swimming. No one lives too far away, so I bet we get together with most of the kids in her class at least once. I like all of the parents, so that sure helps!!! I guess her teacher gave them a little "pep" talk before they went out to play at the end of the day, as Natalie told me "we're gonna be the BIG kids in school next year, mommy. We're gonna be in the FOURS class." As if I was supposed to be impressed. It doesn't seem like it's been too long since we started this "journey." I know I have a whole year to go, but man, she's almost ready for kindergarten!!! I remember the day I went on the tour of the preschool. It was "graduation" day for the fours class and this woman was CRYING, just thinking about her little girl moving on to real school. I thought she was wacko. Next year, that woman will probably be ME. Stay tuned.
OK, I need to catch up on some other work. Take care all. It is ALMOST Summer!!!
